Ashley Thomas
Proud Owner and Founder of Six/Ten
Ashley’s journey in the beauty industry began in 2008 in the Slate Belt, where she fell in love with creating confidence and beauty for her clients. For as long as she can remember, Ashley believed she was born to be a hairstylist and couldn’t imagine doing anything else. But when she opened Six Ten Salon in 2019, she discovered an even deeper passion: running a business and leading a team of young professionals. This realization marked a new chapter in her career, one that would elevate not only her own salon but the industry as a whole.

Six Ten Salon began as a four-chair space with a simple mission: to create a community-centered, team-focused environment that was missing in her small town. What Ashley couldn’t have imagined in those early days was just how much Six Ten would grow—not only in size but in impact. Today, Six Ten Salon is a multi-award-winning business, recognized for its excellence in service, team culture, and innovation. Under Ashley’s leadership, the salon has doubled its team size, built a thriving boutique, and established itself as a pillar of the local community.
Ashley’s love for leadership and business has grown to outweigh her time behind the chair. As of 2024, she spends just two days a month doing hair and focuses the rest of her energy on mentoring her team, growing her business, and consulting with salon owners across the United States. Through her customized salon consulting services, Ashley shares the systems, strategies, and heart that have made Six Ten a success, empowering others to elevate their businesses and achieve their own visions.
What sets Ashley apart is her unwavering commitment to transparent leadership and her deep appreciation for the people who make Six Ten what it is. She is endlessly inspired by her team and takes pride in their achievements, both individually and collectively. Through her guidance and their shared passion for excellence, Six Ten Salon has become a thriving, collaborative space where everyone—from the team to the clients—feels valued and connected.
Ashley’s love for the beauty industry is rivaled only by her love for adventure and good food. She’s a self-proclaimed foodie who enjoys exploring new restaurants with her husband and grilling up meals together at home. Ashley has also embarked on epic road trips on her own, traveling through 47 states and soaking in the beauty and culture of the country. When she’s not working, you’ll find her binge-watching Netflix or cuddling with her beloved dogs, Gunner and Hank.
Ashley never expected her vision in 2019 to grow into what it is today. But through hard work, a relentless drive to make a difference, and the support of an incredible team, she’s built something that inspires not only her community but salon owners across the country. Her story is one of passion, perseverance, and purpose—a testament to what’s possible when you follow your calling and embrace growth.
